Asher Calwell Browne
Candidate for La Trobe
I was born in Hobart, Tasmania, and am currently studying nursing at Holmesglen Institute in Melbourne. I’ve called Victoria home for the past three years, and have gotten to know the electorate of La Trobe well in that time.
I’m passionate about helping and caring for others, and believe in strong government funding for hospitals, a robust pharmaceutical benefit scheme to make medicines more affordable, and preserving Medicare for all. Derryn Hinch’s Justice Party has always stood up for the vulnerable, and Derryn’s personal work on banning the use of a dangerous medical device called ‘surgical mesh’ on Australian women really proved his commitment.
I’m also an animal lover, and am really drawn to Derryn’s policies on ending live export and banning the practice of testing cosmetics on animals.
I am proud to have been chosen to represent DHJP in La Trobe.
