Candidate for Corangamite
I’m a wife and mum, with two children aged 13 and 15. I’m currently studying to be a primary school teacher, and am due to complete by degree by the end of June 2019. I was born in Geelong and have spent most of my life living in the area. As such, I’m very much across the local issues, including the importance of improving local facilities that promote health and wellbeing, and ensuring the regional towns are offered the same opportunities as their city counterparts. I’ve also been a small business owner, and have more recently worked within the Health and Education industries, in particular with children with disabilities.
My husband was a Police Officer for many years prior to his election to State Parliament in Victoria in November 2018 as a representative of Derryn Hinch’s Justice Party. That exposure to the justice system, which is in urgent need of repair, motivated me to run for the seat of Corangamite, and to try to make a difference, including for families grappling with the family law system. I strongly support the policies of Derryn Hinch’s Justice Party, including creating a public register of convicted sex offenders, bail and parole reform, domestic violence reform, justice in sentencing and animal welfare. Having been a strong advocate of the Justice Party since the beginning, I’m proud to be standing as a candidate for the Corangamite area.
